Well, success is at hand. I have transitted Brittany to rendevous with Paul to embark on Eurovelo 6 tomorrow! What a day it's been. It started at c.4am with the pitter patter of rain drops on my tent.... so I rushed outside to recover my 'dry' laundry... but it was too late, wet again!! After a big day yesterday of 60mile driving 50kg of bike&luggage I was knackered and not surprisingly I couldn't get out of bed til 9am..... shortly thereafter the light drizzle turned to heavy drizzle and most of my gear was packed soaking wet....😳 On I went in drizzle til I stopped at a cafe in a village bar where I chatted with the locals and the owners dog!! When I emerged from the bar it was sunny and stayed that way! Too many busy roads today, crazy busy and the 'piêce de resistancè' was the St. Nazaire bridge crossing which is not suitable for children cycling, pregnant cyclists, or those cyclists of a nervous disposition!! What a white knuckler that was..... I imagined something smaller and less imposing.... OK, I was totally wrong.....but had I'd known I may not now be claiming bragging rights!! Met Paul as planned, was greeted by an amazing Brazilian musical and dancing troupe at the campsite!! Paul cadged us some paella, and we enjoyed a couple of beers with Josh&Dan from London who are cycling to Bilbao!! A truly amazing day, and tomorrow the Eurovelo 6 main attraction begins!! Wish us luck!!
