Sometimes intentional.... and sometimes not.....🤦♂️
Orleans to Briare with SideBar Extension.... euphemistically speaking that is....
Somehow we went off on a bit of a 'frolic of our own'.... but we happily M'dTFU and made it good! ✊😎🤙 You see, the 'official route' often changes directions to avoid even infinitessimily small sections of 'busy roads', and you never know if a direction change is for 50, 500 or 5,000 m..... miss one sign and you're toast!! We were very burnt toast..... but happily we found some pleasant byways to chock up our extra 30+km today. We're sorry Mr. Pike, but "we were all doomed" today!!🤣👍
As usual we met some great people, neighbouring us were two German from Kőln (Yannick&Casper) travelling to Morocco on bikes, a loan travelling lady from Holland doing a long distance cycle ride on her Brompton folding bike and a German couple planningbto take their 4x4 camper on a 10month stint to NAerica via a Hamburg to Hslifax sea crossing! Finally a retired Belgian Tech/Businessman who's lived and/or worked fornumerous companies all over the world....Still people boggle and Paul's myambitious journey the Le Mer Noir!!
Indeed, the intentionally less travelled routes would have made John Constable's
heart soar, it certainly made our hearts sore.... Flatford Mill on steroids!!! You know, even the unintentional stuff was interesting..... Offa, Trajan or Calligula would have approved of the poker straight roads.... you know they probably were once the Roman roads of Gaul! C'est la vie, eh?! Just another Killer Ride!!💪😎🤙
