Day 2 - Le Grenettes to Angers
Wow, not a threat of anything other than pure unbroken sunshine all the day long!
It's all settling into place! Paul's rig has been faultless thus far, albeit only 2 days in! I have had some pannier rack mounting bracket failures, after
6 days of travelling but my spares I brought have saved the day.....but after the flurry yesterday I carried out a comprehensive redistribution of weight which has removed at least 5kgs off the brackets including 1kg to Paul. I am now planning on sourcing some bits tomorrow in Angers to provide further backup. The only Achilles Heel of my rig has thus proved so, but I think my mitigations thus far should ease the situation.... but a plan B and C are already formulated.
Tonight's campsite is a cracker right on the river.... 25m hence!! We arrived at tonight's Campsite near Angers about ! It's right on the river with our EuroVelo 6 route at our tents' front doorsteps!! All setup, and I've got my solar charger fired up recharging my gear !!
All going well, but Paul is suffering a tad with early days fatigue but that'll pass as mine did 4 days ago. The going is great, fabulous trails either gravel or tarmac some country roads and the only busy roads being the very short sections where we are crossing the river!
We had Aidan visit us this morning, he's a hard core long distance Irish cyclists and a most unique bloke! Also chatted with a Dutch couple Bert and Kairin from up north of Amsterdam. Once avoid cyclists, now appreciaters of the likes of us young whipper snappers..... Strawberry jam as shown by Paul is grown strawberry jam from Doug's allotment as yesterday beer was another homebrew creation of same artisan within a Romanian beer bottle!! Looking after the karma!!🤞&🙏
Living the Dream,
Doug&Paul 🤞😎🤝😎👍
